UGC vs sponsored content rates explained
The difference between UGC, whitelisted UGC, and sponsored posts — and how each is priced.
Last updated: May 14, 2026
UGC and sponsored content are not the same product, even though brands often confuse them. The pricing models are also different.
UGC (you don't post)
You film content for the brand to use on their channels or in ads. Typical price: $150–500 per video, plus usage rights fee.
Whitelisted UGC (they boost from your handle)
You give the brand permission to run paid ads from your account. Typical price: $500–2000 per asset + a monthly whitelisting fee for the duration.
Sponsored content (you post)
You post on your own feed/grid. Typical price: see the rate calculator — driven by reach + engagement.
Key pricing differences
- UGC is priced by labor and rights, not reach.
- Sponsored is priced by reach and engagement.
- Whitelisting adds a separate line item — never bundle it.
Never quote a single number for 'UGC + sponsored + whitelisting.' Brands will assume one rate covers everything.
